The key to your business credit building success is that you, at some point, obtain three business credit card accounts.
These accounts report to the business credit agencies in different ways and carry more weight than vendor credit.
There are over 500 business credit cards in the United States, but only 40 of these cards will issue you a card in the name of your business only. If you are a start up, there may be only two of these accounts that your business qualifies for right now. But as your time in business grows, and your business credit scores rise, more and more of these accounts will open up to you.
If you apply for these cards on your own, you will get declined. These accounts will be checking to see that your business credit foundation is set and that your business credit files are open. They will check your bank rating and look to see if you have some open vendor lines of credit.
